duration estimate in CPM
The duration estimate for CPM is taken as the most likely estimate. This is what I have read in Kim Heldman's book. But in Oliver 75 questions he has given all three estimates optimistic, pessimistic and most likely. So if I have to calculate the length of the critical path should I calculate with the pert method or take it as the most likely one. Went through all posts in your blog but could not find that which duration is considered for critical path.

Passed PMP
Hi, Passed PMP on 7th Aug. I had practiced your formula exam and scored 72%. Had scored the same in Sean's exam. But the real exam was extremely tough. All the questions were entirely different. Never seen anywhere. I had also solved questions from Rita, Scordo and Oliver but none matched the level of difficulty of the real exam. And problem based on formulas were reduced to just 9 or 10. Anyway I am feeling great after clearing the exam. Was preparing for it since a long time. Your blog, the exams and the ITTO explorer were very useful. Thanks Sugandha

Is CAPM Exam also changing in Nov 2015?
Many people have asked me this question "Is CAPM Exam also changing in Nov 2015?"
The answer is "No". CAPM exam is not changing in 2015 as it is based on PMBOK Guide, which is not undergoing any change this year. PMBOK Guide, 6th Edition is expected to be release toward end of 2016. Both PMP and CAPM exams would change to align with the new version around mid-2017.

Project Management With Subcontractors
I am in a unique environment wherein I am working as the sole Project Manager responsible for web and application development being done by subcontractors. These subcontractors were working independently of any traditional project management principles (no documentation, managing schedule very loosely) and cost is not a variable for which I have any control over. However, they are not being very forthcoming to adapting to my ideas and have, on several occasions, completely disregarded them. Presenting this to my leadership has been futile, as our teaming agreement does not necessitate that they do anything I ask them to do and my ideas are simply that, ideas. Any thoughts as to how I can get the team to appreciate my many years of experience and hard work and work with me to make this a more well-managed project team?

Is CAPM Exam also changing in Jan 2016?
Many CAPM aspirants are asking whether CAPM exam is also changing in Jan 2016 along with the PMP exam change. The answer is "NO". The CAPM exam is based on PMBOK Guide, 5th Edition, which is not changing in Jan 2016. So, there would be no change in the CAPM exam either.

Free Community-Sourced Sample Questions for PMP and CAPM Certification
Hi all,
I'm planning to add a new exam to the BrainBOK platform (http://www.brainbok.com) with community-sourced sample questions. Here are some of my initial thoughts:
- The exam will be free for everyone.
- Any one can contribute questions to the exam but the questions must be substantially original.
- Each question would be attributed to the author/contributor with an option for a hyperlink to his/her website or blog or profile page.
- The questions can be reposted to this forum or any other forum for discussion, but the attribution to the original author must be maintained.
- I'll provide a template (as a Google form) to submit the entries.
- We can form a committee of 3-4 certified PMPs who can review / vet the questions before adding them to the question bank.
- I'll take care of uploading the questions to the BrainBOK question bank.
- If the question bank grows to a substantial size, we can turn it into a full-length PMP and CAPM style-exams following PMI's blueprint (exam content outline).
- I can add some 'reward' system for the top-contributor of the week/month etc. We can discuss more about it if there's sufficient interest.
- You'll get to enjoy all the features of a full exam simulator (saving/resuming exams, reviewing past exam history, unlimited number of retakes, online and emailed score reports, marking questions for review, and much more) absolutely free.
- It would be a win-win for all stakeholders (PMP / CAPM aspirants, the contributors, and BrainBOK).
